VTC Operator Engineer
Summary: UC associate engineer’s primary day-to-day job is to maintain VTC operations within the NMCI classified (SIPR)/unclassified (NIPR) network. As a member of the UC team, operational knowledge of the Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM), Cisco Video Communication Server (VCS), Cisco Telepresence MCU Chassis (w/blades), and Polycom telepresence platforms is desired; VTC operators are expected to understand basic networking principles and problem solving as it relates to an IT environment; UC associate engineers are also expected to interact with end users via telephone or IP conference based media and provide assistance as needed to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities: - Configure IP phones inside of CUCM for registration/communication on the NMCI - Remotely configure VTC endpoints for registration/communication on the NMCI network - Monitor IP Phone/VTC usage, latency, jitter, and total units in use - Manage direct deployment of telepresence endpoint devices (i.e., VTC’s, IP Phones) to ensure successful installation - Identify/resolve end user problems - Schedule/maintain conference calls inside of Cisco MCU platform - Maintain knowledge of all service platforms utilized, as well as accompanying processes and procedures - Maintain reported incidents inside of identified enterprise issue ticket tracker to ensure constant oversight of problem throughout life cycle
Job Requirements: • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years’ experience in related Information Technology fields • CCNA certification or related experience • CCNA Collaboration network certification a plus • Ideal candidate will posse “hand-on” experience configuring CUCM, VCS, or MCU platforms • Mandatory 8570 Certification (Security+) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
