AST Engineer - IA
Summary: AST Engineer -IA’s primary areas of responsibility will be supporting NOC operations within the NGEN Classified (SIPR) / unclassified (NIPR) network. Members of the Advance Services Team (AST) provide tier-III support for Juniper hardware VPNs, McAfee Intrusion Prevention Sensors (IPS), and F5 firewalls technologies. AST Engineer – IA is expected to understand advanced network principles and problem-solving skills related to the IT environment. This role will leverage processes, utilizing ITIL best practices, to ensure the IT organization designs, deploys and sustains high quality, highly available solutions that align with business and IT strategic objectives.
Responsibilities: - Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. - Configure network devices; VPNs, Firewalls, and IDS/IPS - Provide tier-III for incident management - Perform maintenance via approved change tickets - Mentor and develop junior engineers - Conduct VPN technologies related courses in classroom environment
Job Requirements: • High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years’ experience in related Information Technology • Mandatory 8570 Certification (CASP, CISSP, or equivalent) • Juniper or CCNA certification required • Knowledge of OSPF, BGP EIRGRP, TCP/IP protocols • Ideal candidate will possess experience with some of the following platforms: Juniper ISG, SSG, SRX platforms, McAfee
NS series IPS, Pulse Secure SSL VPNs, Forcepoint Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers. • Mandatory 8570 Certification (CASP, CISSP, or equivalent) • Strong communications writing and verbal • Ability to work in an organized fashion with focus on documented activity. • DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
