The Technical Writer reports to the Mission Support Lead
within the Quality Assurance (QA) Section of the Cyber
Forensics Laboratory (CFL) at the Department of Defense
Cyber Crime Center (DC3) in Linthicum, MD. The Technical
Writer will be primarily responsible for writing, editing,
and formatting technical documents and other related
publications regarding the operations and maintenance of
digital forensic processes and procedures within CFL. The
Technical Writer will collaborate with CFL subject matter
experts and organize source materials into cohesive,
comprehensive documents for dissemination throughout the
• Maintaining, updating, and publishing official
laboratory documentation, to include forms, instructions,
standard operating procedures, and manuals; performing peer
reviews on other Technical Writers' work as needed
• Managing the Laboratory's records for its ISO/IEC
17025:2017(E) certification and American National Standards
Institute (ANSI) National Accreditation Board (ANAB)
• Updating question banks for required annual
proficiency testing on CFL policies
• Participating in annual ANAB internal audits on the
Laboratory Management System
• Preparing required ANAB deliverables that establish
the baseline for biennial off-site audits (odd years) and
on-site assessments (even years)

Suggested Qualifications: 13 years of professional
experience without a degree; or 5 years of professional
experience with a Bachelors degree from an accredited

experience with a related Masters degree; or no experience
required with a related PhD or JD. Consideration should
