Information Security Engineer Location: Gaithersburg, MD Clearance: Public Trust, USC Only Certifications Desired: CISSP, CISM, GSE
Description: a) Background in information security across a broad range of information security skills and technologies, especially Certification and Accreditation (C&A) b) Demonstrate creative Leadership in security solutions appropriate for customer and program c) Demonstrated success in working on large-scale, multi-disciplined programs in large corporate environment d) Have effective verbal, presentation, written communication skills for sophisticated and non-technical audiences e) Communicate security issues and concerns effectively at all levels f) Writing Security-related CDRLs such as: a. System Security Plan b. National Air Space System Contingency Plan c. System Characterization Document d. Security Standard Operating Procedures e. Privacy Threshold Assessment g) Ability to multi-task h) Effective customer relations, work across organizational and functional lines i) Solid skills in UNIX (AIX, Linux) j) Work well in highly diverse, collaborative, team environment k) Motivated, self-starter l) Information Security directives, regulations, guidance, controls (NIST 800-53, FISMA, ISO-27001)
Desired Security Engineering Seller Skills: a) Recognized Information Security/Information Assurance certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, GSE) b) Familiarity with Information Security directives, regulations, guidance, and controls specific to the FAA (FAA Security Certification and Accreditation Package (SCAP) process, 1370.82, NIST 800-27, NIST 800-41) c) Familiarity with commercial security products, e.g. NESSUS, McAfee, CISCO, CIS Benchmark, Qualsys d) Comfortable with hands-on, lab activities, vulnerability scanning, security requirements, security configuration &customization e) Familiarity with the ground and airborne aviation environment, NIST 800-53 and with the System Authorization Process.
