  Requirements
Job Description:
Technical design, planning, implementation, configuration, maintenance and administration of Joint Staff (JS) Windows 2012 servers, backup, SAN/NAS storage and VMware environments. Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
Required Skills:
•Five years experience with LAN/WAN infrastructures; and installing, migrating, and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 and Windows 7 platforms.
•Experience supporting EMC related backup and storage technologies (e.g., Networker, Data Domain, VNX, Celerra) and VMware 5.x in mission critical infrastructures.

Responsibilities:
•Backup/storage server administration activities in accordance with JS operating procedures in order to support existing service level agreements.
•System health checks and administers maintenance, repairs, and upgrades (i.e., network operating system upgrades, server refresh, etc.) during non-business hours or as coordinated with the Government in accordance with established JS operating procedures.
oTest and install operating system upgrades, patches and hardware changes in a timely manner consistent with security, information assurance, and change control requirements.
oSystem back-ups and restore functions to ensure data availability and survivability of JS information.
oRestore and/or reproduce current and legacy systems, applications, and data in accordance with Federal, DOD, and JS management directives and requirements for data and disaster recovery.
oData storage backup log in JS procedures.
oFabric management and storage unit Logical Unit Number (LUN) allocation for SANS storage.
•Tools to identify and diagnose complex hardware/software problems and factors affecting backup/storage network performance.
oTroubleshoots backup/storage network systems when necessary and makes recommendations for improvement.
oVendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
•System-level design and quality assurance review of products including determination of hardware, software, operating systems, and other platform specifications.
•Assesses large-scale system projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
•Input to policy level discussions regarding standards.

Required Certifications:
• 8570 IAT Level 2 compliant - Security+ CE
• Microsoft Server 2012 certification

Clearance:
• DOD Active Final Secret SSBI/Top Secret

Work Hours:
• First Shift (8am-5pm)
• Routine, after-hours and weekend maintenance support as scheduled by the lead
