Intelligence Analyst – Mc Lean VA Job Description: Intelligence Analyst working on mission focused programs. Work with a diverse group of individuals across the intelligence community. Build processes to shape government policy. Key Responsibilities: • Guidance on tradecraft helping ODNI conceptualize and structure analytic assessments. • Application of the full range of structured thinking methods • Manage uncertainty and address complex, multidisciplinary intelligence problems. • Work with customer authors to improve the development of estimative outlines and assessments. • Work with managers and analysts to strengthen argumentation and analytic rigor. • Provide timely and constructive feedback to the customer on their product drafts. • Perform post-production product evaluations. • Lead tradecraft, consult, facilitate, help customer expand their thinking and range of possibilities • Refine the understanding of complex issues, organize argumentation • Develop strategies, discover gaps, alternative new trajectories, implication for U.S. national security. • Identify, evaluate, adopt new analytic tools. • Using qualitative and quantitative approaches, improve the rigor, sourcing in analytic production. • Address tradecraft shortfalls, inculcate use of tradecraft services and structured analytic techniques. • Collaborate with customer designers, ensure their intelligence products incorporate graphics, maps, • Other visuals for the presentation of data and analysis meeting high tradecraft standards. • Cultivate relationships with customer, Intelligence Community colleagues, tradecraft subcommittee • Use those relationships to disseminate tradecraft best practices. • Assess and report on tradecraft trends and propose actions for overcoming tradecraft gaps. • May require infrequent travel to support engagements and exchanges with IC partners. Basic Qualifications: • TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph is required • 10+ years' experience in the IC, including intelligence analytic standards expertise. • Draft, structure, review source analytic products across a range of issues and regions • Include conceptualization, logic, argumentation, and writing skills. • Know structured analytic techniques (SATs), tools, methods • Apply analytic tradecraft during the drafting, review, and production of finished intelligence. • Advise IC analysts on application of analytic tradecraft supporting research design, drafting • Including production with the ability to clearly communicate feedback to generalists and specialists. • Ability to facilitate conversations and engagements focused on tradecraft skills • Apply SATs to develop new insights and explore alternative trajectories and future possibilities. • Apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills • Moderate analytic discussions involving IC experts and senior stakeholders with competing opinions. • Work with analysts/authors, graphic designers, editors, production, managers to complete projects. • Carry out mission responsibilities, work individually and part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of IC production processes, analysts supporting U.S. policymakers, IC leaders, military. • BA degree and 12 – 15 years, Master’s with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience.
