Program: High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) Description: Cisco network devices and cable plants, network fundamentals, LAN / WAN technologies, the ISO layer model, TCP/IP, and data communications systems and protocols. Involves Switching, routing, and firewalls. Packet capture tools and traffic analysis. Linux and Windows operating systems; network management tools (CA Spectrum/Ehealth). Troubleshooting and building technical solutions. Management of production networks in an operations environment. Design, plan network communications systems. Specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture. Information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Testing of network design. Maintain all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network. Qualifications: Installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting CISCO networking components. Routing and Switching, using UDP, TCP/IP, Multicast protocols. Routing principals, router programing, switch programing. CERTIFICATION: Security+ Certification. Certification must be obtained within the first 6 months after start date. Desired skills Cisco Certifications. E xperience supporting a High Performance Computing Center. Network design and implementation ensuring network meets Information Assurance requirements. Network security as defined by DISA STIGs or similar Information Assurance requirements. Supporting Cisco/Arista Routers and Switches and Juniper firewalls.
